My physical setup is easy: I’m an Apple person…

MacBook Pro

13″ 2016 with touchbar, I’ve always been an Apple person: my Mac allows me to remotely debug Apple and Android devices, and can easily run Windows. macOS is also a Unix based system but has excellent access to commercial apps that I wouldn’t have on Linux.

I’ve had this for almost 3 years and it’s still going strong. I also use it for a lot of photo editing, it comfortably runs Photoshop and it regularly travels around the world with me.

2 x HP 22f 21.5″

I have 2 identical external monitors, I’m a big fan of the three-screen setup:

  • On my right, I run PhpStorm and any container management tools (Vagrant, Docker). Any wireframing/graphical tools live here too.
  • Center is the site I’m currently building and any designs I’m following.
  • To the left is email, Slack, documentation, and general admin tasks.

Magic Mouse & Magic Keyboard

I favour the bigger keyboard with a number pad.

Mousemat with Qi charger

Generic brand mat that allows me to charge my iPhone. I also find that fabric is a much better surface for my Magic Mouse than a solid one.

AirPort Time Capsule

Not visible here but it allows me to wirelessly back up my laptop while acting as a high-speed wifi router.

iPad Pro 10.5″

Mostly used for responsive testing, combined with Astropad and the Apple Pencil it also becomes a graphics tablet. On the go, I use it for wireframing with Adobe Comp.
